Todd Anders Johnson
Todd Anders Johnson has been producing music, recording and teaching drums internationally for 22 years. Todd's band, Salem, been touring throughout North America for 7 years at festival, club and action sports events from the group's home in Boulder, Colorado. The band performs Todd Anders Johnson's socially-conscious compositions blending hip-hop, jazz and neo-soul.
The band has been traveling with Risan Project tours which include Salem concerts, ski and snowboard film premiers and presentations from environmental organizations such as Protect Our Winters, the Nantucket Land Council and The Climate Project. The Risan Project is touring with the sponsorship of SunCore Solar, the world's first light powered cell phone technology and has begun performing select events on solar powered stages.
Salem has played at the biggest ski and snowboard events in North America like EXPN’s Winter X 12 Games, the 48 Straight King of the Mountain in Sun Valley, the US Freeskiing Open, The US Snowboarding Grand Prix, the US Snowboarding VISA Cup, the Canadian Freeskiing Championships, the Breckenridge Spring Massive, the Keystone River Run Rocks and the Northface Masters of Snowboarding.
Salem has performed nationally alongside acts such as Public Enemy, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, Keller Williams, Pato Banton, De La Soul, Sweatshop Union, The Meters (PBS), Bone Thugs N Harmony, DJ Logic, Stanton Moore and Will Bernard, Hells Belles, Mama's Cookin, Tab Benoit, Rebirth Brass Band, The Motet, Steve Earle and Zilla.
Salem music is featured in the 2010 “Tailgate Alaska: The Movie”, the 2010 Teva Stand Up Paddling Educational DVD, Contour HD trailers, HiroyukiYamada's 2009 “End of the Line”, Warren Miller's 2006 “Off the Grid”, the 2009 X Games After Party CD Compilation and the 2010 Bolder Boulder CD compilation.

Todd is a certified Wilderness First Responder and is certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, AIARE I Avalanche, PADI open water diver with recent courses in Alpine Rescue, Ice Climbing, Canyon Orientation and Rock Climbing. Todd studied with Mbulelo Mzamane and J.R. Deep Ford at the University of Vermont and holds a BA in Regional Development from the University of Washington department of Geography. Todd has worked with ONE Campaign in Philadelphia at a campus challenge and is featured in the “Blog the Debt” notes on debt and economic justice on the Jubilee USA website from October 2007.
Todd has endorsements with IPATH, Cloudveil, Native Eyewear, Osprey Packs, Libtech Snowboards, Columbia Sportswear, Northwave, Boulder Outdoor Center, Contour HD Headcams, Dream Cymbals and Ayotte Drums. He was nominated by Cloudveil as an inspired mountain ambassador in 2009.
Todd served on the board of directors at Rockschool and Iamedia in Seattle and worked with TEENS, Inc. in Nederland, Colorado to establish a music education program. Todd worked with members of People For Fair Trade in Seattle during the 1999 World Trade Organization meetings and assisted with event booking and production during the inception of the Independent Media Center.
