StoP Percussion Ensemble
Percussion ensemble Slovenski tolkalni projekt or shorter STOP was founded in 1999. The members of the Group wanted to unite the chamber music, exploitation of a new instruments, music and sounds…. And of course a joy to have fun!
The members of the Group are:
DAVOR PLAMBERGER, BARBARA KRESNIK, MATEVZ BAJDE, FRANCI KREVH, DEJAN TAMSE, TOMAZ LOJEN, DAMIR KOROSEC.
Their social and musical mission is filled with concerts for young people, organization of the percussion seminars and active encouragement of Slovene composers to write the music for percussion.
They have a lot of concerts all over Slovenia and abroad (approx. 30 per year) and the respond of the audience was always excellent. As a Group they played also with Slovenian philharmonic chamber orchestra in Sombor (Croatia), percussion Group Bing Bang in Zagreb (Croatia) and Wind Quintet Slowind in Ljubljana (Slovenia). They accomplished a cycle of six concerts named “ The serenades of autumn” and very interesting project connected with The Association of Slovene composers called “ Slovene composers to young musical audience”.
The group was presented in Italy, Austria, Croatia, Montenegro, Lituania, Chech republik and Spain, but the longest and most important was presentation in “SEUL DRUM FESTIVAL” in South Corea in 2002.
That short but rich period brought a creative cooperation with a lot of worlds famous percussionists and composers; Evelyn Glennie, Ney Rosauro, Igor Lesnik, Nebojsa J. Zivkovic, Bernhard Wulff…
As an individuals they play in Slovene philharmonics, Maribor philharmonics, Opera and ballet theatre and different brass bands and chamber ensembles and also as a soloists.
