David Colvin is the drummer/percussionist for acclaimed indie-rock outfit Heartless Bastards.  The Austin-based Heartless Bastards have received numerous accolades as its reputation has risen through the ranks of the music world.  Rolling Stone has described their sound as a “veritable mountain”, while Spin magazine’s review depicts their music as “…rousing rock'n'roll that'll leave you aching for a roadhouse, a sticky bar stool, and a chipped glass of bourbon.”

Previous to becoming a permanent Heartless Bastard in August 2008, David Colvin spent the bulk of his career teaching and performing in Ohio and Texas. He is a well versed percussionist holding a B.M. in Jazz Studies from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and a M.M. in Jazz Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.

As full-time drummer for Heartless Bastards, Dave currently tours the U.S., Canada, and Europe for 8 to10 months a year with performances that include the ACL Music Festival, Austin City Limits Television Program, All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival (UK), Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Late Night with David Letterman.
